On this last trip to NYC I went for a run in Central Park. There were so many people out and about that I thought I was accidentally joining a race. Running past the iconic bridges made me think of the ending of the movie “You’ve got mail..” such a tear jerker. With David leaving me this weekend to start his Interviews for a fellowship, Nilla and I are going to be holding down the fort and that means a chick flick marathon. Here are some of my top 10 favorite chick-flicks:
Father of the Bride – That house is my dream house. And if David and I ever have children, I fully plan on recreating that nursery. Plus Frahnk is amazing.
Titanic – Love the music, love Leo, love the costumes, and love the love story! So much love! haha When I lived in California I met Billy Zane and about died.
Legends of the Fall – Though some may debate this being a chick flick. The way Brad Pitt looks in it combined with the love story. So good. Just so good.
My Fair Lady – Loving Audrey Hepburn may be basic… but basic is sometimes beautiful. This was a movie my sister and I would watch at my aunts house in the bowl chair growing up and it only seems to get better with time.
Roman Holiday – Another Audrey Hepburn movie. It’s a fun twist on a love story and feels like visiting Rome.
Age of Adeline– Starring the one and only Serena Vanderwoodson aka Blake Lively, and it also has Harrison Ford 🙂 This was a surprise but has become one of my favorites.
The Tourist – Though there weren’t many stars awarded to this film, I absolutley loved it. It’s Angelina and Johnny Depp in Italy and is basically like if Pinterest became a movie. Everything is SO. Beautiful.
Dirty Dancing – I had never seen this until moving to NC and oh my gooooooosh Patrick Swayze and the dancing in this movie. I totally get why it’s so iconic.
10 Things I hate about you – starring Alex Mac herself (do y’all remember that show?) and Heath Ledger! I love this song from this movie. It’s such a great 90’s flick 🙂
Father of the Bride II – One of the only films ever where the sequel was as good as the first.
J. McLaughlin Crossbody // Shorts // tennis shoes // striped T-shirt similar here // NY hat // lipcolor ‘damned’ // sunglasses
Thank you so much for reading! What are your favorites? I would love to add some to the list!

You can’t leave off some Nicholas Sparks! The Notebook and A Walk to Remember get me every time.
