Merry Christmas Eve! I hope everyone is at home with their families with their feet up and plate of food. David and I just finished our Christmas shopping whoop whoop! And are in for the night. I wanted to share this centerpiece idea in case you are trying to get something together last minute. All you need is water, some tea lights, and a vase.
I’ve seen centerpieces like this at weddings and fancier events and always thought it was such a great idea since it doesn’t take much. I didn’t know if these tea light would float, but luckily they did. I think you could put as many or as few vases as you want to, with as many tea lights as you want to. The important thing would be to make sure the vases are low, since it can be awkward when your view of the person across from you is blocked by a big centerpiece.
buying different flavors of wine (pinot noir, merlot, etc..) all in the same brand is a great idea. Chole wines are great for entertaining because they have a beautifully festive bow. It’s simple, chic, and pairs great with everything. I think these are great for gifting too – the bow is already on it! Presh 🙂
I had a piece of burlap and just cut it for our table runner, then placed three wide but short vases across the table
I had these berries as Christmas decorations and just moved them to the table to intersperse through the vases. If you look in your neighborhood or in your backyard you could cut a few “festive” things to place between the vases – pine cones, red berries, greenery, etc… just make sure you rinse it well!
fill the vases with water tip: make sure it’s room temperature water and not cold, so there is no condensation
I left the tea lights in the metal container, lit them one by one and placed them in the water
I’m so excited that it’s Christmas eve! We are about to order a pizza (my families tradition) and put on the Christmas movies 🙂 Much love to you and yours. Merry Merry!
