Just sitting down to write this post makes me want to go back to Sea Island. This is luxury. I first heard about this resort in high school when my cousin’s friend, who has impeccable taste I might add, went to Sea Island for her honeymoon. Her trip looked amazing via facebook (back in the old days when that’s all the social media there was!) and I’ve been dying to go ever since.
So when Bailey reached out to some bloggers and wanted to visit Sea Island, I couldn’t contain my excitement. The resort exceeded every single expectation – which were all extremely high since I had looked forward to it for almost 10 years. I guess that’s no surprise though, since this resort is the only one in the world to achieve four Forbes Five-Stars eight years in a row!
Large oak trees with spanish moss line the road up to the resort. The entrance is incredibly grand and after a breathtaking view of the resort, we were greeted with the most friendly and helpful of bellmen.
The entire estate is a dream when it comes to architecture and decor. Natural lighting at every turn, arched doorways, intricate banners, I felt like a princess from checkin to checkout.
There were so many activities to choose from at Sea Island: horseback riding, squash and tennis, shooting lessons, golf, fishing, and of course the spa. There was something for everyone. There’s no doubt in my mind this is going to be where I take David for future anniversaries and future family vacays.
we took the resort’s resident boat, The Cloister Belle, out for a sunset cruise around the resort and even saw dolphins! I loved wearing this Vinyard Vines vest and these pink flats to look the part of a southern boater! Just saying that makes me think of the boating scene in Wedding Crashers – This really did feel like a movie with the perfect whether and gorgeous setting. It couldn’t have been more beautiful or picturesque!
since Nilla wasn’t invited I decided to pack the cutest dog sweater from Draper James. I’ve just recently discovered this brand, which is Reese Witherspoon’s new line and it’s adorable! If only I could have made a 179 on the LSAT like Elle Woods did in Legally blonde. We might be on her blog today, which is basically the same thing, right?

on Sunday we lounged in our pretty plum sugar robes and drank coffee until our hearts content. They had a library in the resort and you could stop by anytime for delicious coffee. It was amazing. Speaking of their food, Sea Island has The Georgian Room, the only 5 star restaurant in all of Georgia! We enjoyed a 4 course meal there Saturday night. Not only was the food out of this world, the presentation was beautiful. Even the way the staff placed the food in front of our large round table was perfectly timed, like a dance. It was impeccable.
