When it comes to spring weather I apply the same approach to dressing as I do during the other months of the year – keep it simple. I love having things in my closet that I truly love and enjoy wearing. This white button up is SO Soft. It’s so much better than those stiff button ups that are work appropriate. Those are good in the right setting… but this one is weekend approved, brunch approved, work approved, family BBQ approved, church approved, lounge approved, you get the idea..
Blue jean shorts are such a staple item for spring weather too. Picking a pair can be like trying to choose a shade of white to paint your wall – stark white?, dover white?, dove white?, cream 1?, cream 2?, cream 3?…So. Many. Choices. The options are endless when it comes to blue jean shorts too: ripped?, cuffed?, dark?, light?, stretchy?, frayed?… Don’t feel pressured to just have one pair. Because unlike a wall color you are actually allowed to have more than one at one time.
I love these because they are stretchy, dark washed, not ripped, and a bit longer than the ones everyone had in 10th grade… not that I don’t love a good pair of daisy dukes…
This weekend was probably one of my favorites since we moved here. Friday night was spent outside eating Al’s Burger Shack with friends, drinking beer, and laughing a lot then hanging out with them at their house under patio lights. What is it about patio lights that instantly make ANY patio THE patio? I love them.
Then Saturday Amy and I explored Raleigh and had brunch before going to dinner with girlfriends for her birthday. Sunday David was off and we went to Easter service at Church of the Good Shepherd. I know that the aesthetic of a church has absolutely nothing to do with why I’m there… but our church has HUGE windows all down each side of the sanctuary. It was pouring down rain outside and it really was therapeutic to see and hear the rain while listening to the sermon. I really do feel so “hashtag blessed” for where we are in life right now. I feel like that little girl who stands on the sink in that youtube – I LOVE MY WHOLE HOUSE! haha
Hope you had a great Easter weekend and thank you so much for reading!
