Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this post and an interview by Blair Edie of Atlantic Pacific where she had to fill in the blank “Fashion is _______.” Her response was “whatever you want it to be.” I’ve been mulling over her answer because I can’t get over how true it is. For some people fashion is meaningless, uninteresting, or unimportant. For others it’s labels, shows and “this seasons line.” For me, fashion is only style. It’s not so much where the vest is from or how much the shoes cost, but just about how I feel when I put that piece of clothing on. The first article I referenced by Stylecaster talks about how once in a while everyone has “dressers block.” Sometimes that’s the case for me, and when it is, I throw on all black and just pretend it’s chic New York layers.
