I’ve driven a Camry for the last 11 years, so when the chance came to partner with them to test drive the new 2016 Camry, I was all in. Camry’s have taken me from Mississippi to Florida (twice) when I was working at Disney world. From Mississippi to California when I worked for MTV for a summer, and every state in-between. They are such a reliable, pretty, spacious car. I heart Camry!
From Chapel Hill to Nashville was a pretty long road trip (8 hours) but driving the new Camry was like being in a living room on wheels so it really didn’t seem that long. Plus, since David works so much I kind of looked forward to spending 16 hours in a car with him. *cheesy but true* It had been so long since we’ve seen his sister, her husband and their three cute kids. It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season – with family!
We packed up the car Thursday then hit the road as soon as David got off Friday. Like all Camry’s, the trunk is HUGE. I loved the heated seats in the new 2016 model. And the sound system is AMAZING – It’s bluetooth compatible so I didn’t even have to find the AUX chord… ever. I just played spotify right from my phone. It also has the blind-spot lights on the side mirrors which light up whenever someone is in your blind spot. When we were winding through mountains on the blue-ridge parkway, that feature was SO NICE.
David felt good about me driving because there is a feature that alerts you when you are veering out of a lane, and the cruise control will automatically adjust if someone cuts in front of you too close. Say what!? What is this, minority report? haha It will also break automatically if you are about to hit something – that really would have helped my driving record out in high school.
On Saturday we did something absolutely crazy… WE WENT ROLLER SKATING! I don’t think I’ve gone skating in 10 years. Richie’s brother’s son was having his birthday party so we decided to tag along. If you follow me on snapchat (LC_Steele) You saw David do the Limbo on skates with our niece, Margo. These are the times I wish snap chat lasted forever. After the party we got a tour of Nashville and ate lunch at the coolest taco place, then went to Franklin which is officially my new favorite town. It’s so quaint and beautiful. It really reminded me of Oxford, Mississippi. We got latte’s from Starbucks and strolled through all the stores that were all decorated for Christmas.
David and I still don’t know where we will end up after residency, but Nashville is definitely on the “possibility” list. It has so much charm and I loved our weekend trip! A HUGE thank you to Southeast Toyota for letting us travel in the new 2016 Camry which is definitely one of the best cars out there.
Have any of you ever gotten a car with a big red bow for Christmas? I’ve always thought that would be SO FUN. Right!? Have a wonderful start to your week and thank you so much for reading 🙂
