Skirt // shoes // top // purse // sunglasses
Hunter green has always been one of my favorite colors to wear. It just seems cool and androgynous. (p.s. that’s definitely the biggest word I’ve used in a while). This pleated Hunter skirt is plenty feminine though and is just thin enough to perfectly blow in the wind. Not enough, though, to cause a Marilyn moment. Oh my gosh, speaking of wind, and since I told y’all about Lindsey Brown yesterday… I have to tell this story…
It was the same summer I was talking about yesterday when we lived together in Santa Monica. We were walking back from somewhere and I was carrying two big boxes. I know, riveting that I can’t remember what was in them, let your imagination wander. Anyway… I was wearing a dress and we were walking to our apartment down an alleyway. All of a sudden, a huge gust of wind came roaring through and blew my skirt all the way up. Oh lawwwww…. Marilyn moment times ten. I started screaming and beckoned Lindsey to take the boxes so I could pull down my dress….. and she wouldn’t. bahahahaha She refused to take the boxes and let me walk down that alley with my skirt flying everywhere. It still makes me die out laughing thinking about it now. To be fair to her, no one was in the alley and we were a block from the beach (not that that matters but I feel like somehow I feel like it should). Ahh memories…
The best part about this Nancy drew meets Marilyn Monroe ensemble is the shirt. It is so thick and structured and goes with every skirt, high waisted short, or pair of jeans. I really love how it’s ribbed and the tie detailing is perfectly feminine that even Marilyn would approve. Alice and Wonder has a ton of cute affordable stuff and they are giving away $50 to their store on Instagram today whoop whoop!
Hope you have a great Friday eve and thank you so much for reading this buh-log 🙂
