I thought that once you “grew up” you would know how to decorate a house. I thought it was just something that came along with getting older. I was wrong. I know no more about decorating a house now than I did when I was 12 years old. (Okay maybe I know that scale is important and that an 8×10 framed picture shouldn’t be the only thing on a wall)
I still consider ourselves to be in the “transition” stage of life, since we are just renting this house and know we are moving in a few months. Even though I don’t consider us to be fully planted and in our forever home, I’ve been trying to accumulate furniture that CAN be forever furniture. This, to me, means classic and neutral. Because furniture is just too expensive to do anything but that. Our white couch, that we’ve had for 4 years, has a slip cover and I LOVE being able to wash it at a moments notice.
We recently added this tufted wing-back chair and these two round back french chairs from Safavieh to our den. Safavieh is so easy to work with. They ship everything right to your door so I don’t have to ask a friend to borrow their truck. This stuff probs wouldn’t fit in the Camry, and David’s car is smaller than mine so……
As we start to pack everything up, it’s not even a question of whether or not I’m taking this furniture. I have loved the elegant touch the tufted chair brings to the den, and the round back chairs have been great for extra seating! I love how they are decorative AND fuctional and can be easily moved around for guests.
