shorts: BCBG // blouse: Fedora (c/o) teal on-line but lilac in store // boots: stuart weitzman 50/50 // bag: Halston Heritage // sunnies: Ray-ban // leather jacket: Michael Kors (love this one) // pearl earrings: gift from David but similar here
The first thing I think of when wearing lilac in the spring is Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada
when she says “florals for spring?… Groundbreaking.”
I have to admit that even in my teens it seemed like magazines said the same thing every season: “fall is here and burgandy is back – lots of mustard yellow, browns, greys, darker colors etc…” or “it’s spring! Pastels are all the rage this year.” In general I think fashion just reflects the colors of the current weather season. And that’s ok with me.
Even though pastels in the spring is nothing new, and I know Meryl (or Anna Wintour) would revere me with the same judgmental tone she used in the movie, I can’t help but love this lilac top. I hate showing my arms and this long sleeved number is so thin that I can accomplish hiding them even in warmer temps. Plus because it’s so thin it really accomplishes the ever-so-popular front tuck.
Thanks so much for reading and happy hump day 🙂
