My latest obsession has been dark leather belts with white jeans – the contrast looks so crisp and clean. I went with chambray on top because 1) I don’t wear it nearly enough and 2) I love the lightened up neutral look with the white jeans. (also seen here
This weekend was oh-so-short but also oh-so-sweet at the same time. We were going to leave Thursday night for Mississippi and drive through the night but then David didn’t get off in time. Plus, pulling an all-nighter is pretty miserable. So we decided to leave at 4:30 a.m. Friday morning. The wedding was so beautiful with a stunning bride who wore her mother’s wedding dress. I think incorporating your mom’s dress (or in my case my grandmother’s) is a fun thing to do. Some people alter it completely (like the movie 27 dresses) and some wear it as a “leave” dress or “second” dress.
I vividly remember the moment right before I saw David for the first time on our wedding day
. I was nervous and excited and giddy and anxious. I thought about my grandmother wearing the dress, how long she has been married to my grandfather, and how I was about to promise to do that same thing – spend my entire life with David. The fact that I was in her wedding dress really touched me and made my eyes fill up with tears. But just then the photographer snapped a picture pulling me back to reality and I didn’t ball my eyes out. (the same cannot be said for when I walked through our house for the last time). Still, that picture
reminds me of how nervous and happy I was the moment right before I saw David and is one of my favorite ones from the day.
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying the warmth. Thank you for reading!
