David got finished with work sooner than expected the other day when we were leaving for Charlotte and we hit the road a bit sooner than expected. Translation: I had to pack really fast. So I wanted to share my go-to packing approach when having to pack up and hit the road in 30 minutes….
- check the weather of where you’ll be traveling. this is always the first thing and most important.
- pick a color pallet – if I’m heading to the beach I’ll do blue and white or pink and white whereas for our trip this weekend I went with the colors cream, black and white. This guarantees I’ll be able to mix and match and get the most out of my suitcase wardrobe. (Insert flamenco dancer emoji!)
- Pack favorites. If I don’t wear it at home, I’m not going to wear it on the road. I used to pack things thinking “welll maybe I’ll wear it THIS time…” no. Packing all of my “go-to” favorite items works better every time.
- Once on the road, don’t stress. I always remind myself that this is America….If I DID forget something I can, most likely, get that item at Walgreens or Nordstrom. So once I leave my house I try to take a deep breath and just enjoy the trip.
bag (looks like calf hair but is canvas and I LOVE it – 2 years and going strong) // shoes // jeans (old, zara) similar here // tank (old- love this tank that I wore traveling here) // jean jacket in “dark denim” – LOVE this jean jacket and it’s $23 // sunglasses // lip color
