Recovering chairs might be one of the hardest decisions I’ve made to-date. It’s expensive and the possibilities are endless! This is not picking out a top that you might wear a few times. This is something that could very well be in your daily line-of-site for years. Thank GOODNESS South the Shop in Chapel Hill has design services and interior designers that help you when you are making this big decision. I discovered this shop when I moved to Chapel Hill because they are the prettiest gift store ever. Champagne gummy bears for a a friend’s birthday, sweet baby gifts for those who just welcomed a new little one, and Annie Glass for the friend who just tied the knot. This store seriously has it all. I loved going by and chatting with the owner, Rebecca, who is one of the most fabulous women I’ve ever met. Her taste is impeccable and I felt fortunate that she shared it with me by helping me pick out the perfect neutral herringbone fabric to use to recover these chairs.
These chairs were actually in my dad’s waiting room at his office when he started his OBGYN practice in the late 80’s. When my parents sold the house I grew up in they passed them on to me. I loved them in our piano room but just wanted to give them some fresh fabric to really make them mine. I absolutely LOVE how they turned out and can’t wait to unload these babies from the pod this week!!! I’m pretty sure I put 17 layers of platic around them to make sure the fabric was protected. But even if something were to spill on these beauties they are super durable since they are Sunbrella fabric. We went with the pattern Posh in the color Dove and I LOVE how they look. There is some texture but an overall neutral look. I also think the color Ash is gorgeous and am pretty sure that’s exactly the color that was at the stunning mountain home on their dining room chairs. Now all I need are some pillows and a throw!
If you haven’t gone by South yet and you live in North Carolina you are missing out! They are the perfect place to get home advice, ALL the beautiful gifts for friends or to just treat yourself. Thank you so much for reading. Let’s fill up the coffee cups and have a productive Monday!
