In Italy, there were some of the most beautiful gardens right by our hotel by Lake Como. They were SO pristine, lined with perfectly trimmed hedges, long walkways and statues that they almost felt spiritual. Like walking through them was somehow one big church. Quiet, peaceful, and you knew to be respectful. One day I walked around in them for hours.
We have a garden not quite that nice.. but close, at Duke and I don’t know why we don’t use it more often. There’s a huge grassy area where you can take a blanket and picnic, and what seems like miles of walking trails and of course flowers. Being in gardens like this make me think of the movie ‘The Secret Garden’ – does anyone remember that movie? Pretty sure it was one of my favorites and of course the Bruce Springsteen/ Jerry Maguire hit
Secret Garden. Classic
I got this dress to take to Italy and it was one of my favorite things I wore. Thick and weighty neutrals like this really have the ability to say ‘vacation’ without being too ‘tropical.’ Plus it didn’t take up too much room in the ol’ suitcase which is always a plus – oh the anxiety of my bag being under 50 pounds! I don’t know which I hate more – weighing myself or my suitcase. I need to share my horror weighing myself story with everyone – I’ll save that for tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for reading 🙂
