Ahhhhhh the weekend is here and it’s already in full force in our home right now. David is making waffles in the kitchen and blaring some tunes. I burn almost everything I cook but David, in his true perfectionist nature, measures everything exactly and follows any direction to a T. That being said these waffles are about to be perfect and I don’t mind the splurge on the calories.
We are getting ready and packed up to head to Winston-Salem for the weekend! Because David works so much I honestly look forward to any trip with him. Even if it’s an 8 hour road trip (although this one is just about 2), because it’s just us and I love that. We’ve been married for three years and there’s something sacred about the space you create within your relationship that just feels like home. Not to sounds like a cheesy country song or anything…Anyway, we are staying at the Kimpton Cardinal hotel and I’m most excited about lounging in their oh-so-cute bistro chairs that I definitely want to add to our patio someday. Or maybe go see them on the streets of Paris. haha
Leaving my makeup in Amy’s car from last weekend proved amazing for my skin because I didn’t wear makeup ALL week. I can’t remember the last time I went an entire week without putting one drop of makeup (other than lipstick) on and it was great for my skin. Maybe I need to do that more often.
That’s about it for now. I fully intend to convince David to run by Starbucks on the way out of town so I can grab a pumpkin spice latte. With fall on the horizon I’m a sucker for anything pumpkin these days. Bring on the soups, pumpkin beer, mums, apple picking, crisp air, and blanket scarves! I want it all!
Thank you so much for reading! Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!
