the David and Nilla cuddle pic – “you talkin’ to me?”
stepping outside and immediately being in awe of God’s creation
the best birthday present I’ve ever received

packing Chuck Bass in my suitcase to go stay at his Empire Hotel this weekend
Oh my gooooooooooosh – This weekend is my b-day weekend and it could not have had any better kick off than dinner with Amy and Aaron last night. The older I get, the more I realize to be thankful for every single second and every single friend. Lots of people do posts on “twenty things to know in your twenties” and other tidbits to be “wiser,”…. my only takeaway so far would be: give thanks.
This weekend I’m packing up and headed north to NYC with my mom and sister for a girls weekend. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend since my aunt’s wedding when my mom asked what I wanted to do for my birthday and I told her I just wanted a trip to NYC with her and my sister. There’s something about NYC that makes me feel alive and excited. And even though I’m pretty sure I’ll never live there (I begged David to put in an application there but it was a no-go) I’ll always love visiting for a weekend.
I’m most excited about seeing Les Miserables next Tuesday night. It’s been my favorite musical since seeing it on my first trip to NYC in 3rd grade. If only Susan Boyle was performing! I think NYC is a little like Disney World in that it’s impossible to do it all. Typing this now I’m remembering the umpteen moms that would come through Disney World when I was working as Belle and scream at their husbands “get off your phone! you’re on vacation!” Seeing so many people ‘force’ a good time has really taught me to live in the moment more and just take whatever comes. So rather than try to plan it all, I’m just looking forward to a day of hanging by the pool at Chuck Bass’s hotel and spending some rare and quality time with my sister and mom 🙂 (Snapchat: LC_steele) There will definitely be sunshine, pool time, good food, and wine, and that’s really all a girl can ask for…
Cheers to the weekend and thank you so much for reading!
