Welcome to the weekend. I love Friday’s – it’s like the first day of vacation where you know it’s all ahead of you.
This week was a great one because 1) I got my hair done and we all know that always adds a little pep in your step. And 2) David’s parents were in town! It’s such a treat to have family visit and I’ve loved having them stay with us. David and I absolutely LOVE North Carolina but if I’ve said it once I’ve said it 100 times, we HATE how far it is from our families. David and I feel so blessed that both of our parents are still together and we always love getting to see both sets of them. It’s an 11 hour drive from Mississippi and a not-so-convenient flight. I’ve driven it more times than I’d like to admit for the showers, weddings, births, and holiday weekends, and family functions. Whether we match in Timbucktu or don’t match at all though, I’ll always be thankful for this chapter and time in our lives when it was just David and I Chapel Hill, NC. I wouldn’t trade how much stronger it’s made our marriage and the friendships we’ve made for anything.
On another note, I felt very honored to have been featured in Carolina Style Magazine this week! It was such a fun interview and it really made me pause and be thankful that I’ve been able to continue this blog that I started in law school.
What are your plans this weekend? David is taking a boys trip to Charlotte, NC for a soccer game – something he hasn’t done in our 3 years of marriage! And Amy’s husband is out of town too! So we are going to have a girls weekend and brunch, take a blog pic or two, drink wine to some good tunes, and hit the pool in this 100 degree heat! I don’t think I could explain global warming, but I do think it exists! Every summer seems to be hotter and hotter… and that’s coming from a Mississippi girl!
Hope you have a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for reading!

Lauren! Your interview with Carolina Style is awesome! I especially love the last question and your answer to it 🙂 You’re absolutely inspiring in every way!!! XO!
