There are so many things that make it feel like fall: cozying up under the softest throw with a pumpkin spiced latte, fall florals placed throughout the house, cashmere sweaters, and porches decorated with pumpkins and mums. But my favorite thing lately, has just been to get outside and take a walk in the crisp cool air. My parents used to always “go for a walk in the neighborhood” and I think it’s a lost past time for us millennials.
For a long time, I was only taking in the outdoors in the form of exercise. Feeling like if I wasn’t running, what was the point? I needed to be burning calories or it seemed like a waste of time. Now, in my very post college days, I fully appreciate the simplicity and joy going for a walk in the neighborhood can be. They say you grow up to be just like your parents and in this case I wish I had embraced their practice sooner.
Earlier this week I got to hang out with Amy at her house and snuggle with her cute dog, Bella! Both of our husbands are medical residents so it’s nice to spend quality girl time with each other with they are both working. I’ve been living in this oh-so-soft Romy sweater and this cape has been perfect for afternoon strolls. Plus, it’s reversible so I definitely justify the purchase by thinking it’s 2 for 1. haha Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and thank you so much for reading!
