Rompers have been on the scene for at least 5 years and I’m glad they’re still here. As a spin off the popular romper, the matching shorts/top combination is also one of my favorite pairings for the summer (this one is still my favorite). It can add a bit more sophistication to normal shorts and a top and is still more relaxed than a dress.
We are really getting settled in Chapel Hill and loving it here so far. Some people have asked me about David’s schedule. One unique thing about UNC is that first year residents don’t take night call, so that’s been great. He gets to work at 5:30 a.m. each morning (6 days a week). He works until 8 p.m. two nights a week, and 5 p.m. two nights a week. The other two nights are up in the air, and his one off day a week can fall on any day, not just a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.
One piece of advice we were given when he started was to act like it was the weekend if he ever gets off early, since many actual Saturdays might be unavailable. So when he got home early yesterday we acted on that advice and pretended it was Saturday night. With no time to plan I just put on what I wore to Haley’s engagement party and added heels. This corded statement necklace is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry. The corded material and metal combination is so different and bold. And bold jewelry is a fun way to spice up simple pieces in the summer. Hope you’re having a great summer so far and thanks for reading!
