Twinkle lights, peppermint latte’s, scarves, and fur….. yes, it’s Christmas time. We have actually had crazy weather lately with a heat wave. On Sunday after church, David and I drove to McAlister’s with the windows down. Like, come on, people where is the snow!? But that’s ok – I just have to listen to more Christmas music and sprinkle Cinnamon on my whipped cream in the mornings to compensate.
These fur cuffs from Royal Scout are seriously amazing. You can put them on any boot or jacket you want to add fur to! Why didn’t I think of this? It’s legit that I COULD take them off if there IS a white Christmas and a ton of snow – so they won’t ruin. Oh pretty please let it snow. I also love love love their fur wrap. I’ve been wearing it non-stop and gotten a million compliments. People have even stopped me in trader joe’s. It’s the perfect touch of cozy without making you too hot. My family usually goes to Deer Valley the week before Christmas instead of doing gifts.
Doing a trip rather than presents is so fun to me. There’s always snow, Christmas lights all around, everybody under one roof, and snow skiing and hot-tubbing all week. This year we aren’t going because my sister just had a baby and my brother just got a job. And while I’m ecstatic for them – I also still wish we were going. David is working on Christmas this year so we are staying in Chapel Hill, and my family sold my childhood home so even if he were off we wouldn’t be there. I guess what I’m saying is that I need to get it together and really focus on the true meaning of Christmas this year. That, and…. don’t be surprised if I go overboard on the lights and decorations at our house.
Are you in full Christmas mode yet? Maybe this year I will actually try eggnog. In the meantime I need to finish decorating my tree and find some mistletoe to hang in a doorway – that’s one of my favorite decorations. Have a wonderful day and thank you so much for reading!
