I am SO excited about this post because I feel like a proud mom! Not just any proud mom – like, BEYONCE’s mom. haha Because Capri Blue Candles are the official fragrance partner of New York Fashion Week! ahhhhh!!!
Everybody knows about Capri Blue. They are the candles sold in every Anthropologie nationwide and Urban Outfitters, and every cute boutique, etc etc… but what people don’t know is that they are made in Starkville Mississippi! My hometown. I knew and loved this company from such a young age back when it was called “Aspen Bay.” My mom and I used to go to their warehouse, where they made the candles and just had a small showroom in the front. It had dark wood floors and big round tables with all the different candles and soaps on them. We would cut fresh soaps together as gifts for others or for ourselves. I have such fond memories and have loved watching them grow – all the way to New York Fashion Week 2017!!!
Their ‘Volcano’ scent is still my favorite and if I could only have one candle the rest of my life I wouldn’t even mind if it had to be that one. Their gilded muse collection is also amazing and I love the pop of metallic these candles add to my den and dining room.
Fashion and style are all about creating a “home base” that makes you feel good. Regardless of name brands, and designers, just being able to put on what you feel confident in is a huge success. I think that same mentality plays a part in creating the environment in your home as well. I want it to feel comfortable, but put together, relaxed and elegant – all words I strive for when putting together a clothing look as well. The scent of a home is the first thing people notice when they walk in. I always have some Capri Blue burning when people are on their way over or even if it’s just an evening by myself. They add an element to a room just like a faux fur stole or certain accessory can complete a look.
I’m so proud of Capri Blue for all they have accomplished! Congrats to them for being the exclusive home fragrance partner for NEW YORK FASHION WEEK 2017!
