First of all, when I named this post Salt and Pepper because that’s the description of this blazer, I immediately thought of this song, and am about to have a little dance party while getting ready this Monday Morning – let’s push it.
In North Carolina we are in that “cool in the morning and by mid-day it’s sweltering” weather – not complaining… just saying that it’s tricky smicky when it comes to getting dressed during these type of days. Last week I wore a fur vest and looked like a complete idiot by lunch-time. Wishful thinking..
Enter: the light blazer. This salt and pepper beauty can go over mostly anything and when it’s too hot it can be tossed to the side. This was my first time this fall to bring out the boots – have you invested in a new pair for this fall/winter or are you sticking with yours from last year? I must say, these were one of my first “real” purchases when I got a “big girl job” and it’s been totally worth it. So if you are on the fence about a cold weather investment piece – boots, jacket, etc…. now would be the time to pull the trigger – versus half way into February when you FINALLY cave and get what you’ve been eyeing all season, only to push it to the back of your closet as the temps warm up.
This weekend was so much fun. On Friday we went to a new tequila bar/restaurant with some friends and had the most amazing margs and nachos, then Saturday and Sunday were both booked with restful lounging, binge show watching, pumpkin spice coffee sipping, soup eating, and dog snuggling. So yeah, it was like the best weekend ever. I saw a quote on Jenna Kutcher’s instagram that said “staying in is the new going out” and I couldn’t agree more. Bring on the house robes, soft pillows and popcorn!
have a wonderful start to your week and thank you so much for reading. 🙂
