Charleston is the mecca when it comes to “instagrammable spots” – no wonder Julia Engel moved there! haha I wanted to share the spots that I think are the most instagrammable places in Charleston South Carolina. In Charleston it seems like with every turn I find myself admiring another cute doorstep or overflowing window box. I truly think this city is one of the best destinations in the USA, and not just for Instagram. When David was matching for Residency, Charleston was our number 2 place behind UNC. I am so thankful that we matched at UNC because I met two of my best friends and loved our time there. But Charleston will always be one of my favorite towns to visit! And in another life, I wish I lived there! My friend Mollie lived on Chalmers street for two years and I loved driving down to visit her! Here are some of my favorite “instagrammable” (is that even a word?) spots in the prettiest town in America….
Instagrammable Charleston location number 1.
Starting with the blue dress above. That hedge lined marble staircase is 50 Church Street – if you are heading down broad street, take a right onto Church street. This gem of a stoop and gorgeous marble staircase will meet you at the very end of the street and on the left. Right across from it is another perfect and Instagrammable doorstep.
Instagrammable Charleston location number 2.
another Marble staircase – this is on the steps of the Charleston Council Chamber on the corner of Meeting Street and Broad street. If you are standing on these stairs, you’re facing broad street and starring at a busy intersection and big white church. There were two weddings going on when we took this and another blogger I was with actually got an invitation from a groomsmen haha. We should have crashed the wedding!
Instagrammable Charleston location number 3.
Rainbow row – the name says it all. An entire street of different colored walls. It reminds me of a charming street in London or something from the movie Notting Hill. The picture below is rainbow row as well! dress / clutch / shoes
Instagrammable Charleston location number 4.
Any street “south of broad” – if you are on broad street and head towards the battery, it is streets upon streets of nothing but CUTENESS – colorful doors, cascading window boxes, and loads of instagrammable spots…South of Broad is also the term to describe Charleston’s most desirable and distinctive addresses. One of my favorite things to do is grab coffee in the morning and walk these streets – it’s the most serene, quiet, and beautiful walks you’ll ever take.
South of Broad – the above picture was at the end of Tradd Street. The corner of Legare and Tradd has the cutest pink door and more colored houses.
Instagrammable Charleston location number 5.
Mills Hotel on 115 Meeting street – it’s right across from Husk Restaurant (another great restaurant and instagrammable spot) and is pink with Palm Trees lining the street!
Instagrammable Charleston location number 6.
a pretty front porch – If you’re lucky enough to stay at Zero George or The Inns (the above picture is the Inns) then you’ll be greeted with fabulous porches perfect for morning coffee or an Instagram shot
