I first heard about the Old Edwards Inn from one of my friends when she got married there. Her pictures were stunning and when David matched at UNC, I knew I had to visit Old Edwards Inn for a vacation. We stayed here within the first 6 months of moving to North Carolina and it was a complete dream. The Inn is impeccably decorated, with heated bathroom floors, the best robes, out of this world service, and one of my all time favorite spas. They have a shower in the spa called the “car wash” that has 13 spout heads. Not to mention all the roaring fireplaces throughout the property and the BEST food at Madison’s Restaurant.
One of my favorite parts about the Old Edwards Inn is checking in. I’m greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne (yes please!) and there are complimentary chocolate dove bars too. Talk about the best his and hers reception 🙂 David and I loved celebrating our fourth anniversary at our favorite resort. We played multiple games of cornhole, laid by the pools, rented movies from the Inn, admired the bunny rabbits hopping all around, and had the most romantic dinner at Madison’s. Oh, also, SO many staff members here are from England, and I loved hearing their accents!
It’s tucked away in the cutest little town, Highlands, North Carolina. I hope we come here every year and think it would be the perfect getaway for the fall. The gorgeous drive up is through the mountains and there are overlooks that provide the perfect view of the blue ridge mountains. I think fall in North Carolina is unmatched and the drive up to Old Edwards at that time of year would be a dream. We also stopped to admire the different waterfalls on the way down the mountain.
I’m already planning on coming back to Old Edwards this fall and hopefully many times after that. It’s my favorite!!
