We interrupt your usually scheduled program of Friday’s Favorites to talk about going back to basics. I’ve kind of hit the reset button on my closet (and my home for that matter) ever since reading The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up (more on that here). I love the idea of keeping things simple and streamlined and only adding pieces that are classic and will last for years.
When Lori Coulter reached out about custom swimsuits, I was all ears. Finally – a woman who gets it. You send in your measurements, and they send you a swimsuit that’s made just for you. Insert praise hands emoji. I’ve only owned one one-piece before – the red one I wore all summer when I was a lifeguard in high school. But with age comes wisdom, and while a lady never reveals her age, I’m wise enough to know that I’m never going to have a six pack. I’ve accepted it whole heartedly, and I’m fine with it. haha This one piece is a far cry from the one I had in high school. I love the plunging neck, flattering wrap, and low back. It’s the perfect classic feminine one piece I know I’ll have for years.
It goes without saying but a little black dress is also the perfect classic thing to have at any stage of life. Everybody needs the go-to black dress – or skirt and top like I’ve paired here. Something to throw on when you’re in a “girl’s just wanna have fun” mood. Or in the mood to dance to any of the other Diet Coke song lyrics…. I love this one and this one.
This weekend David and I are laying low because of this Hurricane. And I kind of love it. It’s been too long since I had a lazy weekend and I can’t wait to watch Homeland and catch up on my inbox. Hope you have a beautiful Labor day weekend and thank you so much for reading!
