Weddings are fun. After just spending time with my cousin Sara and Aunt Susu, I am reminded of why – everyone getting together to celebrate love… what’s not fun about that? Seeing those you haven’t seen in a while, maybe meaning to keep up (or perhaps not), but either way, getting to play and dance with people you care about. Another good thing is the presents. Jenny brought one of my favorite presents she received with her to the beach for it’s grand debut… the ice cream machine! This gift is. a. gem. If the Lord chooses to bless me with the gift of marriage, then I’m going to choose to spread the love by making this the first item on my registry and making sorbet for all.
watermelon + watermelon knife
8 cups cubed Watermelon
Blended with Simple Syrup
(Simple Syrup: 1 cup sugar, 1 cup water, heat on stove until dissolved, then let cool before blending)
topped with fresh cilantro
There’s nothing like a slice of watermelon on a warm summer day…
…especially when your slice, happens to be sorbet
